We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Control Support Technician to join our Kerry Team in Cam, near Dursley in Gloucestershire.
As a Quality Control Support Technician, you will play a vital role in our QC Team by assisting other members of the Team in laboratory processes and administration. This role will be excellent for someone, who already has some lab experience, needs flexibility with workhours and wants to develop their QC career.
This part-time, fixed-term position lasts until the end of November 2024, offering 20 to 25 hours per week across Monday to Friday. Morning hours are preferred, but you will have an option to decide what hours you want to work.
Our Kerry site in Cam is a well-established factory with about 35 employees. It is a regional centre for Gum Acacia production, which is used for global food, beverage, and pharmaceutical markets. The site has onsite parking, and it is located close to Cam and Dursley train station (less than 15 mins walk) and bus stops (2 mins walk).

What will you be doing?
Your responsibilities as Quality Control Support Technician will include:
11. Following laboratory procedures to perform chemical and physical testing on pre-shipment samples, raw materials, and finished product samples. Conducting physical and chemical testing.
12. Preparing lab samples for internal and external testing, such as microbiological analysis.
13. Assisting with environmental monitoring (swabbing, water, and air sampling).
14. Carrying out GMP and GLP checks across the site.
15. Maintaining hygiene in QC laboratories and the preparation area.
16. Performing basic maintenance, calibration, and cleaning of laboratory equipment.
17. Ensuring that relevant procedures and work instructions are being followed.
18. Reporting any issues to the line manager and assisting with corrective actions as required.
19. Providing concise and accurate information to support investigations.
20. Filing and storing retained samples as per the site procedures.
21. Inputting and maintaining relevant batch process documentation to satisfy internal policy and external accreditation requirements.
22. Maintaining the documentation filing system.

23. Strong organizational skills, including ability to follow assignments through to completion.
24. Attention to detail and good follow through with a high level of accuracy.
25. Ability to work towards deadlines.
26. Ability to act on own initiative, working alone or in a team environment.
27. Fluent in English.
28. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels of the organisation.
29. Working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook would be an advantage.
30. Fast and eager to learn.
31. Relevant experience working in the food, manufacturing sectors or laboratory experience would be an advantage.
