Cloud Architect (London or Bristol Offices)
Head Resourcing is pleased to be working with one of the UK's leading retail banks who are looking for an experienced Cloud Architect to join their team.
Are you passionate about designing cutting-edge cloud solutions and shaping the future of digital experiences? We're looking for a Cloud Architect to join a forward-thinking financial services organisation, playing a key role in the transformation of personalised customer communications and experiences across retail and commercial banking.
In this role, you’ll lead the design and delivery of cloud-native solutions, collaborating with product and engineering teams to create scalable, secure, and resilient platforms. You'll be instrumental in leveraging data, analytics, and technology to enhance customer experiences and drive innovative change across the organisation.
What you'll be doing:
* Designing robust cloud architecture solutions with a focus on GCP (Google Cloud Platform).
* Driving best practices in cloud security, resilience, and operational efficiency.
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop microservices, containerised applications, and event-driven architectures.
* Supporting the delivery of data-driven products, unlocking insights through modern data platforms.
* Providing technical leadership and guidance on API development, network security, and FinOps.
* Playing an active role in promoting engineering excellence and cloud adoption across the organisation.
What we’re looking for:
* Deep experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud architecture design.
* Strong understanding of microservices, containerisation, and event-driven system design.
* Expertise in API security, networking, and cloud FinOps principles.
* Hands-on knowledge of data technologies (SQL/NoSQL, Big Data platforms).
* Awareness of ML/AI capabilities within GCP is a bonus.
* Proficiency with modern programming languages like Java, Python, and JavaScript.
* Familiarity with SRE principles and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
It would be great if you have:
* Experience working within highly regulated industries like financial services.
* Relevant cloud certifications (particularly GCP Cloud Architect).
* Familiarity with agile working practices and iterative development.
Salary:
* Up to £130k depending on experience
