We are looking for an accomplished phlebotomist to join our busy GP Practice. We are looking to appoint a part-time Phlebotomist who is clinically skilled with general blood taking and can also assist the nursing team in other areas of patient care. You must have excellent inter-personal skills, be able to use our clinical IT systems and have great attention to detail.
Main duties of the job
The key elements of this role include:
1. Taking, collecting, and storing samples of blood in accordance with training and procedures
2. Accurate labelling of all samples to confirm patient identity
3. Using SystmOne and ICE
About us
We are looking for a phlebotomist to join our team here at Penny's Hill Practice. We are based in Ferndown Town Centre in walking distance to all amenities and the local supermarket. The practice shares the purpose-built premises with Orchid House Surgery with a range of community services also being provided from attached facilities.
Penny's Hill Practice is a six partner practice providing a range of primary care and community health services from Ferndown Medical Centre. We run a personal list system for our 6 GPs and have approximately 8000 patients registered with us. We also have 3 practice nurses, 1 Phlebotomist, 1 Phlebotomist/HCA, 2 tracker nurses/HCAs, and our reception team.
Job responsibilities
Working under the direct supervision of the senior practice nurse and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the phlebotomist will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.

Qualifications
* Good standard of general education
* Phlebotomy skills and experience
* Phlebotomy Training and Relevant Update
* NVQ Level 2 Phlebotomy or equivalent
* Health Care Service Certificate and/or diplomas
