As a Soft Landscape Gardener you will play a crucial role in the creation and enhancement of outdoor spaces. This hands-on position with the aim of achieving visually stunning and ecologically sound landscapes. You will work collaboratively with a passionate team of professionals and contribute to maintaining our high standards of craftsmanship and horticultural excellence. As a Soft Landscaper Gardener, candidates will contribute to a variety of landscaping projects, with responsibilities tailored to your expertise and experience. This role offers the opportunity to work on both large-scale planting schemes and more detailed ornamental designs, ensuring diversity in your day-to-day work. Whether you specialise in hardy planting such as trees, shrubs, hedges, or have experience with the more ornamental side of planting, such as perennials, seasonal bedding, and grasses; we would like to hear from you. Key Responsibilities: Hardy Planting: Planting trees, shrubs, hedges, and hardy plants to create robust and sustainable landscapes. Preparing planting areas, including soil cultivation, mulching, and fertilisation. Ensuring correct planting techniques to maximise plant establishment and growth. Ornamental Planting: Planting perennials, grasses, seasonal bedding, and smaller ornamental species to create intricate and visually stunning displays. Interpreting planting plans to achieve precise and detailed designs. Providing care and maintenance for ornamental plants, including watering, pruning, and feeding. General Responsibilities: Working to design specifications and maintaining high attention to detail. Using hand tools and machinery safely and effectively. Work with the Head of Landscapes and management team to meet project time-lines and objectives. Monitoring plant health and addressing any issues, such as pests or diseases. Maintaining a clean and tidy work environment while adhering to health and safety regulations. Key Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience in soft landscaping, horticulture, or a related field. Strong knowledge of hardy or ornamental plants, including their care and planting requirements. Ability to interpret planting plans and specifications. A passion for horticulture and a keen eye for detail and design. Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in various weather conditions. Proficiency in using landscaping tools and machinery (training can be provided where needed). A positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
