Navy Command Headquarters, Whale Island, PORTSMOUTH Job Summary As the Submarine Directorate Head of Health Safety and Environmental Protection (HS&EP) you will directly advise Director Submarines on HS&EP matters and lead the Directorate Safety Cell in the assurance of HS&EP performance across the Director’s Area of Responsibility. Person specification This is a stretching HS&EP leadership and management role with exposure to complex safety challenges and would suit an experienced safety professional with proven experience of operating across organisational boundaries. The post holder will be current in health, safety and environmental protection practice, with leadership experience in complex organisations, and comfortable communicating across organisational boundaries. The post holder will hold Chartered Membership of a relevant Health and Safety professional body, e.g. CMIOSH. The post holder will be willing to progress towards the awareness level of a Nuclear Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person (NSQEP) either by assessment of existing knowledge skills and experience or by undertaking of training and education in post.
