Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR - Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.

Post Summary:
This is a part time (9Programmed Activities) position working alongside other consultant colleagues providing a specialist inpatient perinatal psychiatry service to the patients of NHS Lothian, NHS Borders, NHS Fife, NHS Tayside and NHS HighlandsIf preferred, further clinical sessions in NHS Lothian are available by negotiation. There are no associated on-call duties.
The post will be based at St. Johns’ Hospital, Livingston, collaborating with two community-based consultants and a thriving multidisciplinary team. The post holder will be the clinical lead for the regional mother and baby unit. Outpatient clinic responsibilities include a small catchment area of the city of Edinburgh, with a clinic held there. Together with colleagues, the postholder will provide Maternity Liaison Psychiatry input to women delivering at St.John’s Hospital.
