Here at The Grange
Our dedicated and passionate team provide both a home for adults who need long term residential care, tailoring support to enable individuals to live their lives in the most fulfilling way.
The Grange is a single story building with en-suite bedrooms and individual patio’s leading from bedrooms to the outside secure garden area. We offer an excellent choice of home cooked food and support clients who like their weekend takeaways treats. We encourage client’s to personalise their rooms to their own specific likes and dislikes. There is Wifi throughout the building and calls bells in every room to tend to client’s needs in a timely manner. The Grange is a short walk away from the town centre with bus routes nearby. The local town offers places to eat and local shops including a very busy market on Fridays with Renishaw Hall nearby. We have a hairdresser, visiting podiatrists, opticians dentist and access to hearing tests if needed. We work closely with our local GP surgery and DN’s to ensure client’s needs are met.
Working in care can be demanding but at the same time very rewarding. At The Grange all staff are hardworking, caring and approachable. We believe in a happy home ethos with friendly and funny staff, a smile, joke or laugh can go along way to better wellbeing for all. Staff are supported by the well-established management team who are very conscientious and make time to ensure everyone’s wellbeing is a priority. The job can be challenging at times, with the support from colleagues working together brings fun and happiness to the day to day routines.
What will I be doing:
10. Supporting people with personal care, domestic tasks, medication and health related activities in line with agreed personal care plans.
11. Providing support which helps to meet social and emotional needs.
12. Assisting in tasks which support individuals to maintain their independence.
13. Completing daily records in respect of; the residents day to day activities
14. Liaising with colleagues, other agencies, people with a range of complex needs and their families/carers.
15. Ensuring the safeguarding of vulnerable adults.
16. Maintaining the confidentiality of the individual and adhering to the departments’ recording systems.
17. Other ad-hoc activities
What skills and experience do you need to have:
18. Experience of caring for other people (work based, voluntary or personal).
19. Understanding of and empathy with the needs of vulnerable people
20. Ability to communicate with and relate to a wide range of clients
21. Understanding of the principles of treating others with dignity and respect
22. Ability to follow routines, carry out set care plans, record and monitor changes in individual condition
23. Ability to work with a range of service users as part of a team and alone
24. Ability to work flexibly over a regular shift pattern to include days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays
