If so, we have a fantastic opportunity to join our Central Operations team within the Integrated Control Centre to take a lead on shaping how we can manage our wastewater system in an increasingly effective and efficient way; predicting issues before they arise and allowing us to be more planned in our interventions. We are seeking a bright mind, someone who can work with colleagues across our Wastewater business to challenge the status quo; someone who can think about how the future could be different by making the most of the latest technology alongside optimised business processes but with the ability to translate this into tangible deliverables to drive performance and efficiency improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the Central Operations lead in the development of future monitoring & control capabilities across the Wastewater System, exploring how technology (Industry 4.0) and better ways of working can contribute to the overall delivery of the company's performance.
* Influence the roadmap of capability maturity improvement for Planning, Monitoring & Control and Work Management covering all aspects of people, process, systems and data ensuring integration with other key operational capabilities.
* Ensure that Wastewater Transformation programmes align to the future vision, business processes and current standards.
* Provide direction, guidance and expert knowledge into strategically significant projects, acting as the Central Operations guiding mind on senior project teams.
* Act as the Central Operations guiding mind for Planning, Operational Monitoring, Operational Control and Work Management capability across the Wastewater System.
* Business sponsor for key activities to deliver Operational Monitoring and Control capability improvement that drives improvements in environmental performance or efficiencies.
* Responsible for providing direction, guidance and expert knowledge into strategically significant projects.
* Responsible for all aspects of Operational Monitoring & Control processes, acting on behalf of the Head of Central Operations Strategy as Process Owner ensuring that appropriate governance frameworks are in place and process excellence principles are followed.
* Develop and maintain appropriate Operational Monitoring and Operational Control technical standards.
* Contribute to the development of the strategic visualisation, analytics, monitoring and control ecosystem, acting as a key business expert.
* Deputise for the Head of Central Ops Strategy.
Minimum Requirements:
* Extensive experience in operational delivery, able to lead technical and operational teams, integrating people, processes and technology together to deliver business performance.
* Experience in gathering best practice industry knowledge and working across a matrix organisation to develop solutions which meet emerging themes.
* Qualified to degree level, ideally with post-degree professional qualification.
* Strategic thinker able to understand conceptual models and translate this into transformation activities.
* Excellent interpersonal skills to manage relationships across UU and influence key leaders at senior manager and executive level.
* Highly developed communication skills able to engage with operations, strategy and technology stakeholders.
* Experience in leadership roles with significant levels of digital transformation and people change, ideally in a Utility company or Control Room.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Significant understanding of the regulatory model and overall design of the UK water industry.
