About the role
The Forvis Mazars European graduate programme is open to graduates looking for a unique development programme to launch their international career in audit at Forvis Mazars. Students across Europe will join an international cohort of graduates who will work across two different countries during their 3-year long graduate programme. The role of an auditor is to ensure financial statements produced by audited entities are ‘true and fair' and an accurate representation of the transactions and balances they claim to represent. In the audit service line, you can expect to be part of highly engaged teams, working together to deliver high-quality audits in line with expectations and deadlines.
Those that join the UK graduate scheme will be working alongside France, with trainees being part of our Audit Industry and Services (I&S) team. You will spend your first year in London, UK, and then have the unique opportunity to spend your second year in Paris, France with an allowance to support your accommodation and living costs for your time spent overseas before returning to the UK to complete your graduate programme.
We are now operating a hybrid working model, so as a trainee you will split your time between working from home, visiting the office, client sites when required, or studying for your professional exams.
We are looking for candidates with a strong desire to learn and progress, and we give increasing responsibility when an individual is ready rather than at pre-determined times.
During your first year you will:
* Work with various international clients, building a strong understanding of their business;
* Learn how to prepare professional audit documents in line with our audit methodology using audit software and systems;
* Develop a thorough understanding of financial statements;
* Obtain relevant information from key stakeholders while building effective and professional relationships.
During your second year you will:
* Work on the same international client as in the UK but on French subsidiaries, to build and develop audit skills in increasingly complex areas;
* Be a key contact in the coordination between France and the UK;
* Develop your adaptability to a new culture and work environment;
* Be able to coach and support less experienced team members.
In your final year, you will be expected to take on significantly more responsibility on your international clients. This may involve taking the lead on a technical area or a team and ensuring the entire audit file is completed. This will include managing the work of other team members, coordinating work with the French team, taking responsibility for the budget, and presenting in meetings.
Who we're looking for

* Deep curiosity to learn new things;
* The ability to think critically, solve problems, and share knowledge;
* A commitment to self-development and learning;
* Strong sense of ownership of duties and high levels of responsibility;
* Always looking to improve;
* Enjoys engaging with new people with respect for diversity and integrity;
* Works well under pressure and has a positive attitude;
