We are seeking a visionary leader to take on the role of Interim Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). This is an excellent opportunity to drive institutional transformation and shape the future of one of the UK’s leading universities. This post will be initially for a 9 month period.
As CSO, you will provide strategic leadership across External Relations, the Campaign and Alumni Office, Planning, Performance and Strategic Change, ensuring alignment with the University’s overarching goals. You will play a key role in enabling the University Executive Board (UEB) to deliver on the institution’s ambitious vision.
This role is critical as we navigate our transformational change programme, Future Nottingham. Your role will be pivotal in aligning strategic initiatives, ensuring resources support our institutional strengths and embedding a culture of collaboration and inclusivity across the university.
Your key priorities:
* Working with UEB colleagues to ensure alignment of resources behind identified and prioritised institutional strengths.
* Ensuring strategic planning supports delivery across the university, particularly overseeing the integrated approach to student number target-setting, financial planning, and business planning.
* Working closely with Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Chief Operating Officer to lead the University’s annual planning and resourcing process and maintain strategic alignment.
* Ensure alignment of institutional strategies, particularly Education and Student Experience, Research and Knowledge Exchange, Global and Civic are met. Additionally, review support structures to enhance effective delivery and ensure the Future Nottingham programme aligns with the institution’s long term vision.
* Establish the future state of areas under their remit through Future Nottingham.
You are a strategic leader with proven success in strategy development and implementation delivered in a complex organisation. As a key member of the University Executive Board, you will be a highly credible individual who values collaboration and works effectively with both internal and external partners. As a strategic leader, you will ensure that the university’s values, including Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) is emphasised in all aspects of your work.
