We are looking for a Project Director to join our infrastructure water team based on our @one alliance project with Anglian Water.
Due to the significant increase in the capital programme within the @one Alliance, the Project Director of delivery is a new role which will be responsible for the Profit and Loss for one of four delivery teams; identifying and implementing cost reduction opportunities through AMP8 major investment projects.
What you’ll do:
1. Be responsible for the design, build and delivery of the capital investment programme, ensuring each program in the region is delivered on time.
2. Work collaboratively with senior stakeholders (both internally and externally) – to manage and deliver their expectations, enabling the work to be carried out with ease.
3. Contribute as an SLT member to the AMP8 Strategic Planning.
4. Develop strong collaborative relationships and trust between Anglian Water and @one alliance’s teams.
5. Build strong aligned relationships and understanding with AW operational leadership. Manage the key internal and external stakeholders.
6. Act as a point of escalation, mediation, and resolution for both Anglian Water and the @one alliance.
7. Drive business objectives of Anglian Water and the @one alliance, ensuring performance exceeds contract targets.
8. Lead the development of the @one alliance’s AMP8 delivery programme for sustainable project release.
9. Be accountable for the successful delivery of the business objectives, providing clear direction and support in balancing commercial leadership and performance, carbon (Capex/Opex) reduction, sustainable development, and championing nature-based solutions.
10. Ensure business targets and governance are achieved through regular reviews with the project leads, ensuring risks and opportunities are communicated.
11. Report business performance to the Managing Director and the Finance Director and the @one Board as required.
12. Lead a culture that inspires experimentation, innovation, and continuous performance improvement.
What you’ll bring to the role:
1. Delivery and operational planning of significant infrastructure projects.
2. Strategic thinker with the ability to deliver long-term strategic plans aligned to business objectives in a collaborative environment.
3. Strong understanding of industry standards, business operations, and regulatory requirements. Utilities sector assets preferable.
4. Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
5. Financial planning, budgeting, and headcount management.
6. Ability to anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders.
