Head of Planned Programmes
Location: High Wycombe / hybrid working (2 days per week in the office, 3 days working from home)
Salary: £73,504 + Excellent Benefits

As the Head of Planned Programmes at Paradigm Housing, you will lead a vital part of our Property Team. You will oversee a £10 million programme dedicated to refurbishments and upgrades, including kitchens, bathrooms, cyclical decorations, and UPVC improvements. Collaborating closely with senior leadership, you will ensure our planned works provide value for money, meet customer expectations, and adhere to all relevant regulations.
What you'll be doing:
* Leading and providing strategic direction to the Planned Works Team, including 3 Planned Works Managers and 1 Admin Team Leader.
* Managing a budget of £10 million, ensuring all programmes stay on track and within financial parameters.
* Working collaboratively with the Asset Management and Investment Delivery teams to implement cost-efficient, high-quality planned works.
* Ensuring compliance with statutory health and safety regulations, including CDM, the Building Safety Act, and other relevant legislation.
* Driving continuous improvement by identifying and implementing innovative practices and systems across the Planned Programmes team.
* Providing leadership and professional support to your team, ensuring high standards of performance, appraisals, and development.
* Acting as a key point of escalation for unresolved complaints and issues, driving a focus on customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities:
* Overseeing a division with direct responsibility for Planned Works Managers, a scheduling function, and a team of 48 Technicians and senior staff.
* Ensuring contractors deliver efficient, compliant, and cost-effective services that meet Paradigm's standards.
* Reporting on performance, budgetary control, and project outcomes to senior management.
* Leading change initiatives that enhance team performance, service delivery, and operational efficiencies.
What you'll need to succeed:
* A master's level education or substantial leadership experience in a senior role, ideally within social housing maintenance or property services.
* Commercial acumen and strategic thinking, with a track record of improving performance and efficiency.
* Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and manage change.
* In-depth knowledge of relevant compliance legislation, health and safety, and contractor management practices.
* Experience with project management, financial reporting, and IT systems.
* Knowledge of the social housing sector is preferred but not essential.
