Operational Resilience sits within the Chief Control Office. This consists of five functional teams, focused on Assurance, Technology, Operations, and Multi-Function (Procurement, Third Party, Business Continuity and Incident Management, and Protective Security). There are also regional teams. Strong collaboration between these functions is key to the success of CCO.
Operational Resilience is a key priority for the organisation. The operational resilience team in DBS is responsible for shaping and delivering the strategy for operational resilience. Achieved through collaboration with global businesses, entities and functions and supporting business led change aligned to the group’s strategic objectives..

In this role you will:
• Support the delivery of the firms Operational Resilience strategy in line with regulatory requirements and business priorities.
• Have a unique opportunity to influence the management of operational resilience both within CCO – as a control assurance function – but also across the organisation. This is primarily through the orchestration of effective teamwork in support of agreed deliverables; strong stakeholder management and collaboration – particular with other teams involved - to drive the right outcomes for the Business
• Be accountable to the Head of Operational Resilience Frameworks and is an individual contributor in a team consisting of approx. 27 FTE. The team consist of 4 SME’s, 2 analyst and is located in the UK and has a global remit.
• Support the team in various projects within the bank such as core operation resilience project, any project that requires SME involvement, revamping the enterprise framework, value stream project. Act as a consultant or an advisor for the wider team..
• Serve as senior member of the team and will be expected to maximize the value and impact of the team’s mission, and to support the team to seize opportunities and support the business to succeed
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
• A deep technical understanding of operational resilience, system thinking, service architecture, framework design, and how they are specifically applied within the financial services is essential.
• Experience in controls, control design and implementation within operational resilience is essential.
• A detailed understanding of the regulatory priorities, structure of the three lines of defence, the broader resilience landscape, and the challenges for firms with a global footprint.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, analytic and inter-personal skills which support the operational resilience outcome.
• Operates effectively across a large, matrix-managed organisation, to build strong collaboration in support of operational resilience.
• Ability to influence Senior Management on complex topics.
The role is based in Edinburgh as the primary location UK Hybrid – Birmingham, Sheffield, Leeds, Bristol, Edinburgh
