About the team
This is a new role which will be joining the Central Revenue Protection team, reporting directly to the Area Revenue Protection Manager and Deputy area Revenue Protection Manager. The role will support the team of on board colleagues including Ticket Examiners, revenue Protection Inspectors and Revenue Investigators. The role is based in our Bristol office, although the role may require train travel to other locations in our Region.
What are the responsibilities?
Roster clerk – 20 hours part time
This is a dual role where you will be supporting a widespread team, completing a range of administrative duties as well as creating, reviewing, and monitoring the rosters for the team.
1. Analyse passenger numbers, busy services, and routes to create effective diagrams that maximise revenue income.
2. Collating figures and facilitating reports for the Management team to review with colleagues.
3. Implementing new systems to ensure that the team can be run at maximum efficiency.
4. Monitor annual leave and absence levels and adapting rosters accordingly.
5. Planning and organising rosters, hotels, and resources for Revenue Protection events.
6. Ordering and maintaining the crew equipment and uniform.
7. Printing and mail dropping information for colleagues.
8. Ensure GDPR is maintained throughout the team.
9. Posting on notice boards important information.
10. Filing and maintenance of crew records on Paper vision
11. Attend high profile confidential meetings within the GWR network and note / minute take to a high standard.
12. Reporting of information to other departments through various systems.
13. Take notes and messages for the Revenue Protection Managers in their absence.
14. Problem solve and solution find for colleagues.

Skills and experience required:
21. Excellent computer skills, ideally experienced in using Office 365 (additional training will be provided for railway specific applications).
22. Previous experience using Excel to monitor team performance using formulars, creating spreadsheets, and running reports.
23. Previous experience in administrative roles.
24. Ideally experience with creating effective rosters for a team.
25. Be able to follow and implement agreed rostering rules and implement consistently.

What else do I need to know?
You must live within one hour's travelling time from Bristol station.
There are occasions that may require very early starts and late finishes, so you must be able to travel to and from the station at times when there is no public transport.
