Job Description & Profile
As the Maintenance Caretaker, you will ensure the day-to-day upkeep of the building by carrying out general and specific duties as directed and be able to work unsupervised.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Key holder – Open and closing of the building, on-site supervision of contractors or clients
2. Day to day general indoor Maintenance
3. Light gardening/outdoor maintenance
4. Repairs and odd jobs (i.e. fixing leaks, replacing light fittings etc)
5. General Cleaning
6. Set up in preparation for events as required and clear downs (furniture and equipment moving)
7. Regular scheduled maintenance checks (emergency lighting, fire alarm and equipment etc.)
8. Upkeep of maintenance records and site inventory
9. Litter picking around the buildings
10. In conjunction with management, monitor Health and Safety status and compliance to policies.

Skills & Specifications
Essential
1. Have a keen interest in keeping the Town Hall functioning to a high standard. No trade qualifications are required, but previous experience in a similar type of role would be highly advantageous.
2. Demonstrate good decision-making skills and common sense.
3. Take pride in consistently providing a high standard of cleaning and maintenance.
4. A team player who ensures that the building is clean, tidy, and in a safe condition.
5. Have a level of fitness to be competent with set-ups and clean downs (moving chairs and tables, applying chair covers & tablecloths).
6. Experience of working to achieve agreed works are completed within agreed time frames.
7. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
8. Computer literacy.
9. Good spoken and written English.
10. Have a positive, can-do attitude.
It is a requirement that you have a DBS check. This can be done once you are employed at the Town Hall.
