Nexos have an outside IR35 contract opportunity for a Principal Instrument Engineer based in Aberdeen. You will be accountable for executing instrument engineering activities and ensuring technical quality is maintained within budget and schedule. Your regular duties will include: Working in accordance with regulatory HSE & Quality requirements. Maintaining required technical quality of work, in accordance with originating, checking and approval procedures. Contributing to the effective communication between all relevant stakeholders – client, engineering and project teams, and the wider company leadership team and support functions. Providing engineering input into tenders and proposals, as required. Providing technical input into scopes of work, and preparing estimates, as required. Ensuring that assigned work is compliant to agreed budget and schedule. Preparing discipline deliverables (as appropriate) and providing input to multi-discipline deliverables. Checking/approval of discipline deliverables prepared by other team members. Ensuring compliance to applicable and current standards, regulations, codes and procedures. Maintaining regular contact and dialogue with the assigned Lead Engineer, and Engineering Manager, in highlighting issues, concerns, or areas for improvement. Providing technical expertise to the resolution of technical queries, ensuring that all design changes are captured by the change control process. To be successful in this role, you should be able to demonstrate: Demonstrable experience in the Oil & Gas industry. UK bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in appropriate engineering subject. Chartered Engineer and member of appropriate engineering Institute. Sound technical background and expertise. Experienced in selection, and use of, applicable codes, practices, standards and statutory documentation. Competent in the direction and organisation of discipline team within project environment (small/medium sized). Competent in commercial, contractual, and administrative aspects of engineering.
