We are currently working with a Local Government authority in the Midlands who are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Planner to implement the policies and procedures of the Council regarding the control of development and assist in the provision of an efficient and effective service to the public.

1. Assisting the Principal Development Management Officer and the Planning Development Manager
2. Mentoring other team members and deputising for the Principal Development Management Officer
3. Dealing with a case load of some of the more significant planning applications, including the carrying out of site inspections, research, consultations, and assessment of the applications
4. Making appropriate recommendations in accordance with the policies of the Council under the direction of the Principal Development Management Officer, Planning Development Manager and Head of Planning Services
5. Preparation of Committee reports on planning and other applications, to include presentation of reports at Development Control Committee
6. Negotiating where appropriate to improve development proposals
