The project\: As part of the local government and communities’ sector that operates in England and Wales you will be integral to the exciting development plans of the Southeast region. Working across the sector, on projects and programmes across local government, residential and regeneration, sports and leisure, universities, arts, culture and heritage and blue light. You will lead the programme and project management discipline across the local government business unit in the southeast working alongside the cost and commercial lead, forming part of the operational leadership team in the South. You will take responsibility for end-to-end service delivery, often in respect to large and complex projects, portfolio and programmes. You will lead the development of the programme and project management service strategy to support the growth in the region. You will identify opportunities to grow our service lines to support the needs of our clients. The successful candidate will interlink with the PPM discipline lead for local government and communities and the other PPM regional leads to co-ordinate services, resource planning, training and development and share service excellence. Reporting into the local government and communities’ South regional lead. You’ll be responsible for: Contributing to the development of strategic management plans. Providing line management and overseeing the recruitment. Managing resources, driving the achievement of regional objectives in accordance with BU requirements, compliance and regulatory frameworks, ensuring effective commercial business practices, tangible operational productivity and improvements. Leading the quality assurance across the discipline, ensuring that all teams comply with the Mace Way process. Leading teams of professionals providing services on large projects or technical specialist recognised as an expert in their own area of expertise. Managing senior level customer relationships for the region. Strategic client engagement, identifying leads and opportunities, supporting regional/BU teams in winning work and bidding. Deploying the Mace Way standards within the region linking best practice back into the BU/global centre of excellence and community. Meeting client service expectations manages multiple client and partner relationships, and engages clients on the subject of our service offering Communicating internally and externally regarding success in the service line, best practice, innovation. Identifying, coaching and mentoring talent; supporting professional development and mobility. Contributing to assurance and audit regime across the BU to ensure service excellence against those standards and that lessons learned are captured and fed back into the regional and BU leadership. Contributing to business growth and market positioning through sales and/or growth of accounts or relationships - driving a future-proofed, sustainable business. Contributing to management of contract and commercial procedures and business unit budget / P&L. Identifying and analysing business opportunities and risks – seeing problems early. Persuading and influencing junior colleagues and an ability to delegate tasks to others not within line management structure. Support the growth of the regional teams. You’ll need to have: Leadership and management experience in project and programme management and capability to lead a multidisciplinary team. Bachelor’s degree and a member of a relevant institute. Track record of winning and delivering work for public sector clients. Experience in negotiating, influencing and communication skills to command professional respect at all levels. You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead high performing teams within a commercial environment.
