Operations Duty Manager vacancy in Luton (236BS)
Our client, one of the well-known Airline brands, is looking for ex-military candidates to join their operations support center in Luton.
The Operations Duty Manager is the head of the shift and is responsible for the on-the-day management of approx. 160 aircraft – supported by the Senior and Ops Controllers on shift. This individual would need to come with a strong understanding of aircraft logistics and performance, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to remain calm under pressure in scenarios that could include management of aircraft incidents until handover to crisis teams. Away from the operation, they will also have line management responsibilities including managing employee performance and reviews.
The role:
1. Lead the 24-hour active management of all aircraft operations across the Group and relevant lease-in/out operations and respond to minimize the impacts of irregularities & disruptions on a day-to-day basis for all airlines whilst following regulations.
2. Ensure safe & compliant delivery of commercial passenger, ad hoc, cargo or non-revenue aircraft operations at all times for the 24-hour flying programme.
3. Coordinate the wider on-shift team, ensuring that the day of operations management of the airlines flying programme remains constantly proactive, mitigating against risk and disruption and always considering the impact of decisions on the Crew and Customers and the commercial context of the Markets’ operation.
4. Lead, manage, coach and develop the Senior Operations Controllers and Airline Operations Controllers ensuring they provide on-shift collaboration with their colleagues.
