Key Responsibilities:
* Expert Technical Support: Provide advanced-level support for networks, telephony, and IT infrastructure, resolving complex issues that go beyond 1st and 2nd line support.
* Networking Infrastructure: Development, management and upgrades to network infrastructure such as: Cisco and HP network switches, Kemp load balancers, Cisco ACI hardware. Fortinet Switches and Access Points. Development and management of Fortinet Fortiswitch, Fortinet Forti WIFI, Fortinet FortiManager and Fortinet FortiAnalyzer. Familiarity with leased line provider NTUs and routers. Use of routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and switching technologies (e.g., VLANs, spanning tree). WAN technologies such as SD-WAN. Network traffic prioritisation using QoS to ensure voice quality.
* iTelephony - VoIP, Unified Communications & Contact Centre: Development, management and upgrades to telephony infrastructure such as: Mitel MiVb, Mitel YourSiteExplorer, Mitel Contact Centre Client, Mitel Border Gateways, Mitel MiCollab, Mitel NuPoint, Redbox call recording. VoIP protocols (SIP, H.323, RTP) and call signalling. SIP boot configuration and troubleshooting. SaaS telephony platforms.
* System Improvement: Conduct in-depth analysis and implement solutions to enhance our IT systems and processes.
* Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Develop and maintain technical documentation and conduct training sessions to empower your colleagues.
* Project Participation: Collaborate on multidisciplinary projects, contributing your expertise to drive business change.
Who You Are:
* Experienced Professional: You have a strong background in Cybersecurity, Networks, Telephony, or IT infrastructure.
* Theoretical Knowledge and Third-party Network and Telephony Software: A comprehensive understanding of one or more technical specialisations and their practical application within a Local Authority context is essential. This includes expertise in Networking Infrastructure, VoIP, Unified Communications, Contact Centre, Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting. Along with up-to-date knowledge of relevant industry standards and best practices.
* Problem Solver: Your analytical skills enable you to diagnose and resolve complex IT challenges efficiently.
* Effective Communicator: You can convey technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience:
* Experience of the following network and telephony products:
o Mitel MiVb
o Mitel Your Site Explorer
o Mitel Contact Centre
o Fortinet, FortiSwitch
o Fortinet FortiWiFi
o Fortinet FortiManager

* Experience of the following network products:

Qualifications:
* Degree or equivalent experience in IT or a related field.
* ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent.
