Main duties of the job
As a team member you will be delivering strategies to support and enable individuals to participate in recovery-based activities, engage in treatments, and develop skills to support returning successfully to their own homes or support with sourcing appropriate accommodations to meet their needs in the community. You will be allocated a clinical caseload and will participate in case discussion within the wider OT and MDT teams.
OT staff work with partner organisations to develop more community-based resources and will do 1:1 work to enable service users to engage and participate in activities as part of their engagement plan. Trust OT staff have access to a variety of outcome measures and assessment tools including MOHO and the Trust is now in the process of rolling out sensory work, MDT assessment and Dialog + as an assessment and care planning tool. Staff are welcomed to attend OT meetings and meetings with the Wider AHP professions and training events within the wider Integrated Community Care and Recovery Services (ICCR).

Education and qualifications
* Is registered with HCPC as a qualified OT or is working on completing accreditation as an Occupational Therapist with substantial experience of mental health prior to training.
* Application form shows evidence of training or study in areas of interest or clinical skills in addition to OT qualification.
Experience
* Candidate has experience of placement or work within mental health setting and is able to describe the role of OT and needs of service users, at a level appropriate to their experiences.
* Application demonstrates interest in supporting service users within a recovery based framework with an understanding of personalised care planning.
* Applicant has an understanding of outcome measures used in mental health and their application in assessment and care planning process.
* Applicant has experience or has sought out information about work in CMHT and is aware of the needs of this client group and issues that impact them.
Skills and qualities
* Application form demonstrates good communication and organisational skills and describes effective communication with others, including staff, service users and families.
* Candidate is able to describe how they structure their work practices with regard to adhering to standards, organisation and prioritisation of workload.

Please note, if applicable for your role you will be required to cover the cost of your DBS certificate. This will be deducted from your salary over 3 months. You will also be required to sign up to the DBS Update Service before commencement with the Trust.
All successful applicants will be required to complete the Trust’s induction programme. The Fundamental (Statutory and Mandatory) training will be in an e-learning format. You will be required to complete training modules online (approx. 9-14 hours depending on post) by the end of your first week with us.
