We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated,forward thinking Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) with Independent orSupplementary Prescribing qualifications to work as part of the Wakefield CAMHSPsychiatry Pathway. Ideally, candidates will have extensive experience workingwithin the field of children's mental health in a health care setting. Theyshould be able to demonstrate core knowledge and skills in mental healthassessment, formulation, care planning and treatment alongside experience in Independent/SupplementaryPrescribing.
The post holder will hold a case load of young people withcomplex emotional and mental health needs alongside running clinics under the supervisionof the area Psychiatrists. They will provideinput into referral processes and referral meeting within the team, provide consultationto MDT staff from wider CAMHS service to share relevant expert advice. Theywill undertake risk assessment, care planning, Routine Outcome Measures and managea caseload for treatment delivery/review.
The post holder will supervise NursingAssociates within the pathway, providing case management and clinicalsupervision. The post holders will be required to work flexibly to support theneeds of the service. Extensive clinical knowledge and relevant experience ofassessing and managing risk within a mental health setting is essential. Thesuccessful candidate will be expected to have a flexible approach to travel.
Main duties of the job
Working with children, young people and their families/carers to co-ordinate delivery of assessment and relevant treatment options
Working as part of an MDT to assess formulate, care plan and deliver relevant treatment options to children and young people
Completing all relevant case management roles such as CPA and care co-ordination
Holding clinics and exercising roles as an Independent/Supplementary prescriber as part of the Psychiatry pathway. Hold a caseload for psychiatric assessment, prescribing and monitoring of common mental health presentations in children and adolescents eg depression, anxiety, OCD etc. They will have regular clinical supervision from the area Psychiatrist for these cases.
They will provide input to the CAMHS Prescriber rota to issue repeat prescriptions to young people. This includes all the necessary allied tasks including ensuring safe medication prescribing and clinical governance of safe prescribing.
Attendance at a variety of meetings to discuss complex cases as well as liaison with other teams/services both internally and with external partners.
They would communicate regularly via timely clinical letters to GP, young person and families following psychiatric assessments and medication reviews.
To liaise with and actively promote excellent working relationships, communication & working practices with referring teams and partner agencies. This would include the provision of expert advice to multi-agency partners

JOB SUMMARY
The Post Holder will work as part of the Barnsley CAMH services and support the Locality teams in developing alternative ways of working through the introduction of Non Medical Prescribing
The post holder will practice as a non-medical prescriber (independent/supplementary prescribing) in accordance with the Trusts non-medical prescribing policy and protocols
Prescribe as an independent/supplementary prescriber within ones scope of competency
and in accordance with Trust and national policies
Following national training and a period of actively prescribing as a supplementary
prescriber, to work as an independent non-medical prescriber within the designated areas
of clinical practice
Be responsible and accountable for the assessment of the patient with diagnosed and
undiagnosed conditions and for decisions about the clinical management required including prescribing as agreed with Consultant Psychiatrist
This job description is an outline of the main duties of the post. The postholder will be required to undertake other duties commensurate with the grade as directed.

KEY RESULT AREAS:
The post holder will work across the localities supporting an agree caseload. The post holder will:-
1. Provide advice and support to other clinicians acting as a source of expertise
2. Prescribe for the patient mental health needs and the management of drug-related complications within their own sphere of competence
3. Promote the health needs of clients with complex issues and within their sphere ofcompetence provide interventions for these needs
4. Promote clinical excellence by complying with agreed Trust and statutory policies and clinical guidance, while maintaining own clinical competencies in this role
5. Work in close collaboration with medical personnel regarding prescribing protocols, policies etc. and where necessary work closely with the independent prescriber in developing and delivering clinical management plans for clients
6. Work within relevant NMC/RPSGB and any other appropriate statutory requirements
7. Work as an independent non-medical prescriber within areas as required and designated, taking responsibility for the clinical assessment of the patient, establishing a diagnosis and the clinical management required
