Working across all of our transport hubs at Accrington, Nelson and Preston to cover leave and sickness including working alone providing a visible, reassuring presence to members of the public and helping them with travel queries and issues. We are looking for maximum flexibility and you may be assigned to cover at any of our bus station sites sometimes at short notice. We are looking for someone who can travel between sites and provide excellent customer service, in sometimes challenging situations. Someone who is a good team player with a commitment to giving the best customer experience you can provide. You will need to work to set procedures, must be approachable, confident and helpful with a strong sense of responsibility. This full time, permanent post involves working an average 37 hours per week, including early starts or late finishes, weekends and bank holidays, on a rota basis, for which enhancements are payable. You must be mobile and able to get to sites or leave sites outside of normal public transport operating times. The role involves working as part of a wider team looking after the buildings and the people using them ensuring that our bus stations provide safe and welcoming environments at all times. Being a visible point of contact; actively assisting and providing information to customers travelling through any of our stations. Dealing with different scenarios confidently and assertively. Identifying and reporting any defects with buildings or equipment and dealing with emergencies quickly and calmly. Maintaining a high-quality environment, dealing with health and safety issues, cleaning spills etc. as required and ensuring any contractors on site work effectively in a safe manner. Lone working but still part of a team, your key focus and duties will include, but are not limited to: Being the first point of contact for all visitors and users of bus stations. Engaging with members of the public, tenants, operators and other stakeholders. Providing excellent customer service, working on your own initiative dealing with issues as they arise. Recording observations, information and reporting irregularities. Liaising with bus operators and drivers to ensure correct and safe procedures are followed. Assisting management in property related matters, health and safety and some cleaning duties. Ensuring buildings are maintained, reporting and recording any defects. Responding and assisting in emergency situations. Securing premises by patrolling and monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting the building, equipment and access points. Ensuring premises are opened and locked down in a safe, secure and timely manner. Monitoring and setting building equipment controls and alarms. You will be required to provide a car for use in connection with the duties of this post and must be insured for business use.
