Due to rising demand, we have a number of positions available for dedicated and supportive individuals to join our high-performing Learner Support Team at BCoT. The team provides in-class support to students with Education and Health Care Plans who require extra assistance to help them achieve their learning aims. This support is often provided on a 1:1 basis, but sometimes it can be on a 1:2 or 1:3 basis depending on need. The students have a range of learning difficulties, disabilities, and differences, so you will need to be adaptable in your approach to ensure that the support you provide is effective. The majority of students are aged 16-19, but there are some older students also requiring support.
We are able to be flexible with the working day, within the times set out above. A full-time position is 8.30am to 5.00pm, five days a week for either 36 or 32 academic weeks of the year.
You do not require any formal qualifications for this role, but GCSE maths and English passes at Grade C/4 or above are needed. What is essential is that you have a passion and commitment to help some of our most disadvantaged students to succeed. Full training will be provided.
If you are interested in this role but cannot commit to the hours and times outlined above, we do also have hourly paid sessional posts available. Please advise on your application if this is your preference.
Should you be shortlisted for the role, you will be invited in to shadow. This is a great opportunity to get an understanding of the role and ask any questions you may have.
We have some amazing benefits on offer:
1. Membership of The People's Pension Scheme (PPS)
2. Free onsite parking
3. Free onsite Gym
4. BCoT Nursery, Restaurant and Hair & Beauty discounts
5. Starbucks onsite!
