Our Engineering Teams play a vital role in maintaining, servicing, and repairing our fleet to keep it on the road, delivering services to our customers. Partnering with the business, you will understand the current and future hiring requirements and effectively implement the appropriate strategies to source the right talent, at the right time. You will provide effective recruitment advice and guidance to your stakeholders and come up with innovative solutions for attracting the best talent, including the creation of workforce planning and early careers strategies.
You will create, implement and monitor attraction strategies and then take accountability for the reporting of candidate pipeline through the process to forecast hiring numbers.
Responsibilities
* Build relationships with hiring managers to understand the current and future needs of the business and take ownership for the regional workforce plans.
* Develop and execute hiring plans to ensure the attraction and employment of right people, right time with right skills through campaign coordination and managing individual recruitment requirements up to the point of joining the business.
* Ensure that all campaigns are delivered within agreed timescales to deliver the required number of candidates for operational roles to meet the workforce plan.
* Utilise sourcing and attraction tools to enable a volume candidate pipeline.
* Directly manage senior operational vacancies end-to-end.
* Continuous review of processes and procedures to further improve our effectiveness, efficiency and experience for candidates and hiring managers.
* Manage the performance of the team (Talent Acquisition Specialists and Coordinator) to meet recruitment KPIs and SLAs.
* Coach and mentor members of the Talent Acquisition Team to develop their skills and experience.
* Support the development of a compelling Employee Value Proposition that aligns to the Arriva brand and values and positively influences external candidates to join Arriva UK Bus.
* Lead regular recruitment meetings with operational stakeholders to review performance and update on action plans as appropriate.
* Advise hiring managers on appropriate assessment tools where required.
* Refine and improve recruitment and system processes.
* Provide reports on recruitment activity across the team as required.
* Ensure all recruitment activity and record keeping is compliant with employment legislation and Data Protection.
* Work collaboratively with the team.
* Manage external partners where appropriate.
What we’re looking for
* Previous experience of managing engineering recruitment within a fast-paced recruitment environment.
* Proven experience of designing and implementing attraction campaigns utilising online and offline methodologies.
* Experience of running recruitment events, internally and externally.
* Confident with the use of digital advertising including social media.
* Experience of workforce planning and future skills hiring.
* Proven experience of apprenticeship hiring.
* Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills.
* Knowledge of employment legislation in relation to recruitment.
* Experience of working with recruitment systems and standard computer packages.
* Full UK driving license as travel would be required.
