Main duties of the job
Cardinal Medical Practiceoperates across 3 sites, Chesterfield Drive, Deben Road and Norwich Road.
OurPractice Nurses predominantly operate out of Norwich Road andChesterfield Drive. This role is offered on a full or part time basis.

Cardinal Medical Practice is abusy practice located on the outskirts of Ipswich Town Centre with a practicepopulation of approximately 30,000 patients. Cardinal was formed from a mergerof Chesterfield Drive, Deben Road and Norwich Road surgeries and as a result,we are now one of the biggest medical practices in Suffolk.
The practice has a team of 4 GPPartners, Salaried GP's, GP Registrars, Advanced Nurse Practitioners,Pharmacists, Paramedics, Physicians Associate, Practice Nurses, HealthcareAssistants, Care Co-ordinators and additional healthcare associates. The teamis supported by Management and a large administrative team.
The practice operates using theSystmOne Clinical programme and AskmyGP and has a history of high QOFachievement.

Job description
Job responsibilities
Provides care directly to patientswithout referral via another senior nurse or doctor.
To undertake general nursing dutieswithin the nursing team, including:
Immunisations Adult,Childhood and Baby
Cervical smears
Contraception adviceand pill checks
Dressings / TreatmentRoom care
Knowledge andcapabilities to manage Chronic disease and Long Term Conditions
To work to practiceprotocols and guidelines.
Provide general andspecific nursing care in a Primary Care setting.
Provide healthassessment and screening to the practice populationwithinagreedprotocols.
Provide healthpromotion to the practice population.
Advise and treatpatients with minor ailments.
Provide nursingtreatments to patients working to agreed protocols.
Implement a systematicapproach to care, to include efficient and accurate record keeping for thebenefit and safety of patients.
Assist with thedevelopment of work policies and protocols within agreed guidelines to providethe optimum standards of care.

Experience
Essential
1. Practice Nurse, District Nurse or Apprentice Nurse Associate experience.
Desirable
