Vision Personnel are delighted to be working with an exciting client to identify a Technical Manager.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Office based in Essex.
2. Managing the planning and delivery of infrastructure, groundworks and surfacing for new sites.
3. Co-ordinate all technical information for new sites including location and serviceability of existing services.
4. Create initial site utility designs.
5. Prepare specifications for construction works required to enable tenders/quotes.
6. Review tenders and award contracts.
7. Manage and monitor the civils and utilities works on site.
8. Attending and actively participating in project meetings, ensuring actions are cleared in accordance with agreed timescales.
9. Ensure that all operations are carried out in an efficient, safe and economic manner with a view to the protection of the company’s interest and tenant satisfaction.
10. Promptly resolve contractor’s queries.
11. Promote Health & Safety across the sites.
12. Mentoring the Project Manager with their apprenticeship.
13. Managing earthworks and groundworks design cost effectively.
14. Take responsibility for construction cost management and value engineering working with Managing Director and others.
15. Manage contractor valuations, payments etc.
Skills and Qualifications
1. Minimum 10 years’ experience in a groundworks/civils/utilities environment.
2. Project/Design Management experience.
3. Relevant professional qualification to either degree, HNC/HND, NVQ Level 5.
4. CAD/BIM software experience.
5. CSCS card or equivalent skills and aptitude.
6. Experience in civil engineering and utility works.
7. Team leadership qualities.
8. Ability to review drawings and specifications.
9. Ability to prioritise, negotiate, motivate, and communicate to ensure that the required objectives are met and for use in dealing with contractors and tenants.
10. Willing to travel to sites based across the UK.
11. Possess good IT literacy using Microsoft Office.
