Maintenance Caretaker
Parade Enterprise Centre, Chester
£28,231per annum (rising to £29,717 per annum after 12 months service subject to satisfactory performance)
40 hours per week
We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Caretaker to join our Avenue Service team in Chester. As Maintenance Caretaker you are responsible to maintain a safe and well-presented environment by carrying out general maintenance duties which include setting up meeting rooms, providing refreshments, front of house communication with contractors, the facilities team and users of the centre and carrying out regular checks on the building and equipment. You will join a team of 14 and the role involves both lone and team working. The ideal candidate will have recent experience working in a maintenance role completing minor maintenance tasks and have operated hand tools and light machinery.
The role of Maintenance Caretaker will include:
- Carrying out repairs and maintenance on various sites around Chester and reporting issues which require specialist attention
- Assisting with building health and safety checks, and ensuring compliance checks are completed on time
- Carrying out routine works and providing accurate and timely information on progress
- Maintaining an adequate supply of stock and replenishing as appropriate
- Ensuring waste is disposed of correctly and cleanliness is maintained
- Delivering high quality customer service and escalating any shortfalls in service delivery to senior colleagues to ensure they are dealt with appropriately
Skills and experiences:
- Previous experience in undertaking general caretaking, cleaning and maintenance duties, including identifying and carrying out minor repairs
- Practical experience of carrying out risk assessments is desirable
- Working Knowledge of COSHH and health and safety legislation
- Previous experience in operating hand tools and light machinery
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to plan and prioritise workloads in order to meet deadlines
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
