An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Health CareAssistant to join a friendly and busy GP Practice.
Previous experience in phlebotomy ispreferred, however training would be provided to a suitablecandidate.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work collaborativelywith the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting thedelivery of policy and procedures whilst managing their own workload to deliver the practicepriorities. Clinically, the focus of therole is to undertake COVIDvaccinations and then be able to support clinical activities within theclinical team as requested. Eg. ECGs, health checks, Phlebotomy, dressings and wound careetc, as delegated by the practice nurse on duty and according to training andcompetencies. The role will also be evolving as the balance of care shifts fromhospital to general practice.
UndertakePhlebotomy for individual patients.
Undertakescreening and diagnostic procedures, promoting and being involved in HealthEducation activity height, weight, BP.
Processingof samples urine.
AdministerFirst Aid.
Receiveand refer patients to trained nurses when appropriate
Understandand adhere to the Policies and Procedures of the Practice
Updatethe computer by coding activities appropriately and at the time of theconsultation using templates where appropriate.Comply with computer-based information requirements
Ensureall items of equipment are maintained in good order, and ensure that allprocedures for reporting hazards or unsafe equipment are known, understood andcarried out by all staff in the nursing team
Participatein a duty rota system within the clinical team to ensure the servicerequirements are met
About us
The currentlist size of Danetre Medical Practice is approximately 12,800. Any increaseover the last ten years has been due mainly to; natural change (more birthsthan deaths); building development within Daventry itself and more recentlymigration from the rest of the UKand overseas. The boundaries of the Practice show we are large in terms ofgeographical size, with the majority of the land classified as rural.
Thepractice itself is located in close proximity to Daventry Town centre in amodern building adjoining Danetre Hospital (a community hospital which openedin September 2006) offering a wide range of services and delivering a highstandard of care. Also attached to the Practice operating independently isBoots Chemist.
Currently the practice works with 5 x GPpartners, 1 x Managing Partner, 4 x salaried GPs, 3 x Practitioners, 2 xClinical Pharmacists and over 250Hrs of Clinical nursing support.
