Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust believes in fairness, equity and above all values diversity in all aspects of its work, as a provider of health services and as an employer of people. We provide visa sponsorship to applicants who require a visa to work in the UK, providing the role you’ve been recruited to meets the requirements set by the Home Office.
From 4 April 2024 overseas workers requiring a general Skilled Worker Visa (such as data analysts, IT and finance professionals, etc) but sponsored by an NHS organisation will need to meet the new salary threshold of £38,700. In addition, applications to the Health and Care Visa route for those occupations paid by NHS bands that are on the immigration salary, a list of skilled jobs which have lower salary requirements, will need to meet the national pay scale for their role or the new minimum salary threshold of £23,200 (whichever is higher). We advise that you check that the role you wish to apply for meets the requirement for sponsorship before applying.

Following the recent reopening of Bishops Castle Community Hospital, we are seeking a pharmacist that is keen to develop their clinical skills.
You will be a GPhC Registered Pharmacist with 12 months post registration experience who is both organised and motivated. You will be a team player working closely with nursing staff and prescribers as well as our experienced Pharmacy Technicians, therefore, great communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

We are dedicated to supporting you with completion of your IP qualification as part of your benefits package.
Main duties of the job
Full training will be offered, and you will be given opportunities to shadow another Pharmacist as part of your induction, this could be at Bishops Castle or an alternative site. Once trained, you will be rostered with one of our experienced Pharmacy Technicians. All of our medicines are externally sourced, this means there is very little on site dispensing required, this allows you the time you need to undertake clinical checks to ensure patient safety is maintained.
* To support the delivery of an effective and efficient medicines management service to the Community Hospitals and other clinical teams by working closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team across SCHT.
* To ensure service compliance with medicines legislation, in particular controlled drugs legislation.
* To provide input into policy, procedures, audit and research affecting the use of pharmaceuticals at SCHT sites where appropriate.
* To liaise with our out-sourced pharmacy supply function, to ensure provision of an effective dispensing and supply service.
* To support the training and development agenda for clinical practitioners and non-medical prescribing practitioners at SCHT where appropriate.
* To provide holiday or study leave cover for other pharmacists and deputise for them at meetings.
* To provide clinical supervision of pharmacy technicians.
* Will work as a Non-Medical Prescriber or be willing to work towards completing their NMP qualification.
