Senior Governance Officer We are seeking three Senior Governance Officers to join a dynamic and dedicated team, supporting the democratic and decision-making processes of a local government Council. This is a key role within the Committee, Member, and Executive Support Service, ensuring the smooth operation of governance functions.
With a hybrid working model available, you will have the flexibility to work both remotely and in-office while providing essential support for Council meetings, committees, and decision-making bodies.
Key Responsibilities
Meeting Coordination & Administration – Oversee the scheduling, coordination, and servicing of Cabinet, Committee, and Sub-Committee meetings, including quasi-judicial hearings and partnership meetings.
Governance & Compliance – Ensure meetings adhere to legislative requirements and the Council’s Constitution while providing procedural, legal, and constitutional advice to members.
Agenda & Report Preparation – Compile, review, and distribute meeting agendas, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Draft reports and correspondence as required.
Meeting Attendance & Support – Attend in-person and hybrid meetings, typically in the evenings, ensuring all necessary documentation is available and supporting decision-making processes.
