Consultant Paediatrician with special interest in Cardiology
Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit a Consultant Paediatrician with expertise in Cardiology. An exciting opportunity has arisen to develop the paediatric service in conjunction with the regional paediatric cardiology network. It is anticipated that the successful candidate, with the support of the cardiology network, will develop Cardiology Services for children in Barnsley in line with the needs of the local population. The post holder will also be expected to have at least 25% of their clinical work being related to cardiology and the remainder being General Paediatrics and Neonates (as Barnsley is a level 2 Neonatal Unit). In addition, we are looking for a candidate who has a strong interest in Medical Education. The successful consultant will be taking on a shared role of College Tutor.
The post holder will work collaboratively with the visiting tertiary cardiology Consultant to maintain and provide a high-quality paediatric cardiology service for Barnsley. They should expect to participate in joint cardiology as well as conduct independent cardiology clinics. This opportunity is ideal for a PEC to lead our vision for Paediatric Cardiology care locally.
