The postholder will work strategically and closely with colleagues across the system, as part of the ICB Medicines Optimisation team, developing and implementing the medicines safety element of the Medicines Strategy, to meet the ICB needs for a transformational change. They will engage with all stakeholders from multiple organisations across the Lancashire and South Cumbria healthcare system and wider Northwest region, including NHSE, NHS providers including primary and secondary care, LPC, LPN, and Community Pharmacy. Main duties of the job The postholder will work within the Medicines Safety and Governance team, taking lead responsibility for key aspects of the medicines safety work programme that supports safe and effective services for the patients of Lancashire and South Cumbria. This role is a strategic role, and involves working with multidisciplinary teams, providing specialist advice and guidance to improve the safe use and management of medicines. The postholder will have the potential to support prescribers, staff from healthcare providers and care homes in improving the health of their patients through the rational and safe use of medicines, and the development and implementation of safe medicines optimisation systems. They will utilise data and Medicines Optimisation software systems to identify and monitor prescribing information and produce appropriate reports for use with practice staff and within the ICB.
