The Royal Borough of Greenwich is looking for dedicated, forward thinking, and enthusiastic Technical Officers and Environmental Health Officers within the Environmental Health service, part of the Council's Community Safety & Environmental Health Division. A key aspect of this role will be a focus on the licensing of private rented properties, and post holders will demonstrate best practice and high productivity in their area of responsibility.
You can expect to be carrying out onsite inspection work for a range of property types, completing dynamic risk assessments, and offering support and advice to tenants and landlords. Routine compliance visits will include Houses in Multiple Occupation, and properties that require Selective licenses. There will also be associated enforcement work and checking application documents and draft licences.
You will be a confident communicator who is able to work equally well in a team and independently. We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants with experience of working with private sector housing, similar regulatory compliance-based processes, or a regulatory enforcement background with experience in a local authority setting.
The offer of appointment will be based on your knowledge, skills, and qualifications and you will be graded between SO2 and PO2.
The successful candidate will be eligible to take part in the Council's flexible working arrangements, and hybrid working to help you achieve a good work/life balance, including a 35-hour working week.
