Outreach Tutor - 1:1, Plymouth, Devon
We are looking for Outreach Tutors to provide tailored tuition packages on a one-to-one basis for young people currently without a school placement.
Role
- As a Primary Outreach Tutor, you will plan, create, and deliver personalised lessons designed to bridge gaps in education and boost both engagement and attainment.
- This role is ideal for an experienced teacher looking to move away from the classroom and deliver enjoyable, bespoke lessons.
- Many of the pupils you will work with may have been out of formal education for some time and may have low confidence. Your role will be crucial in re-engaging them with their learning and helping to restore structure to their daily routines.
- We will provide close support to ensure progress is made with each pupil and that their learning experience is effective and rewarding.
Contract Details
- Location: Within the community or pupils' homes in Plymouth, Devon
- Position: 1:1 Outreach Tutor
- Type of Work: Contract
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: Until the pupil reintegrates into a new school placement
- Contract Type: Temporary
- Hours: Part-time (15 hours per week, per student)
- Pay Rate: £22+ per hour
- Working Hours: Flexible, depending on the family's availability
Experience, Training, and Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- UK classroom teaching experience
- A creative, patient, and flexible approach to teaching
- Experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils
Eligibility Requirements:
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service (or willingness to process a new application)
- Two professional child-related references
