Design Director
Salary: £75k - £90k based on experience
Location: London, Hybrid working, Permanent Position
B Corp certified, leading workplace design & fit out company creating unrivalled workspaces that drive performance is looking for a Design Director. They provide complete workplace consultancy, from a single office relocation, design and fit out, to workspace planning, refurbishment, and interior branding on a global scale. Relied on to craft bespoke and sustainable workspaces.
The Role:
Managing teams and leading pitches. Overseeing multiple projects, you will work closely with the Technical Designer, Project Director, and Project Manager, in addition to the visualizer and graphic designer. Designing workplace solutions in a team-based environment, you will deliver truly innovative designs that meet and excel our clients' requirements and brief. Clients' vision will be enabled through intelligent solutions and clear communication.
You will confidently collaborate with internal project teams, supporting them through active design input and the management of all phases of the design process from concept and client brief through to on-site implementation. As an effective communicator, a lateral thinker, and a conscientious team player, you will effectively sell both yourself and the Company to all stakeholders, actively seeking and developing personal networks, fostering long-term client associations, and developing new and repeat business opportunities.
Desired Qualifications + Experience:
1. At least 7 years' experience in commercial D&B design
2. A good level of technical skill with attention to detail
3. Excellent commercial awareness
4. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines, especially on work for pitches and tenders
5. Confident in a client-facing position and contributing to wider business development activities
6. Excellent communication - both written and verbal
7. Fluent in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite; knowledge of other relevant AutoDesk packages would also be beneficial
8. Ability to manage your own time and that of relevant others responsibly and effectively
9. Experience leading large teams
10. A positive and professional 'can do' attitude
11. Ability to create a common sense of team and purpose
12. Ownership for achieving personal and team objectives
13. Ability to create a culture of continuous improvement
14. Revit is the standard design platform; therefore, good Revit knowledge would be desirable for this role
15. BA degree in Interior Design or equivalent
