Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate mixed practice veterinary nurse to join our friendly team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to animals while assisting the veterinary surgeon in various clinical procedures. You will play a crucial part in ensuring the comfort and well-being of our patients, as well as supporting pet owners with their concerns and questions. Responsibilities
* Nurse clinics 20 mins consults: Pain clinic, weight loss, giving meds etc.
* Assist veterinary surgeon during examinations and surgical procedures.
* Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment.
* Administer medications, 2nd vaccinations and treatments as directed by the veterinary surgeon.
* Monitor anaesthesia and vital signs during surgical procedures: dogs, cats, exotics, wildlife and equine etc.
* Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
* Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
* Provide nursing care to hospitalised patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
* Educate pet owners on post-operative care and general animal health.
* Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the veterinary practice.
Skills
* Strong knowledge of mixed practice veterinary nursing.
* Experience in laboratory techniques related to veterinary medicine.
* Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Empathy and compassion for animals, along with a commitment to their welfare.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
* Willingness to learn and develop new skills as we see a very wide range of species in our caseload.

Pay: £27,500-£30,000 per annum
