The university is currently recruiting for a Senior EAP Tutor, NEU within English for International Students, to work on a Joint Education Programme in China. This role involves collaborating with the Heads of English at NEU and Dundee to lead and manage the academic development and delivery of ESAP programs. The responsibilities include curriculum development, teaching, operational management, research, mentoring colleagues, coordinating resources, and supporting the overall student experience. This role offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and development, allowing candidates to work closely with experienced professionals and leaders in English language teaching. You will be expected to work in China for two semesters a year, and the rest of the time work remotely from the UK. Your priorities will include: Academic development and delivery by working closely with the Heads of English to ensure effective teaching methods and maintain quality standards. Team development and leadership, mentoring colleagues, setting objectives, monitoring performance, and providing support to staff and students. Planning and resource management are also important aspects of the role, with coordination and collaboration to meet student needs, assist with administrative duties, and enhance English provision for Strategic Partnership programs. Who we’re looking for: The ideal candidate should possess the necessary education and qualifications, such as an MA TESOL and/or DELTA certification, along with ongoing professional development and engagement with professional networks. Relevant work experience in EAP management/coordination, designing and delivering academic English courses, coordinating teaching teams, and understanding university structures and quality assurance procedures is important. Excellent time management, organizational, and planning skills, as well as effective communication and interpersonal skills, are essential. Dependability, reliability, high-quality work, flexibility, adaptability, and handling confidential matters efficiently are valued attributes.
