Deputy Payroll Manager - Office Based

Quantum Care is a not for profit company providing high quality care services for over 2000 older people in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Essex.
Working as part of the Payroll Team, you will assist in the administration of the company payroll and work with HR ensuring the company's policies and procedures are applied in processing employees' pay.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Provide support and guidance to the payroll team and deputise for the Payroll Manager in their absence.
2. Provide information in response to benefit enquiries, mortgage reference requests, insurance claims for loss of earnings or other relevant enquiries.
3. Understand and assist with implementing company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures.
4. Support year end processing, as directed by the Payroll Manager.
5. Work with the Payroll Manager to develop and provide training to Management and Administrative staff to ensure current payroll and personnel procedures are being followed in each Home.
6. Provide support with processing RTI returns and the reconciliation of PAYE.
Knowledge & Experience:
1. Extensive payroll knowledge and experience of processing large volume payrolls.
2. CIPP qualified or equivalent.
3. Experience of communicating and dealing with enquiries, in person, by telephone and in writing.
4. Comprehensive understanding of UK payroll legislation including income tax, National Insurance and statutory regulations.
