About the Role:
As a HSE Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the business’s statutory safety compliance in line with current legislation. You will be an integral part of the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) department, helping to foster a culture of safety across all levels of the business.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the implementation of an effective safety management system.
* Assisting with accident investigations to identify root causes alongside relevant departments.
* Managing PPE control and reordering to ensure the safety of all staff.
* Leading monthly Health and Safety Committee meetings, driving discussions, and promoting safety across the organisation.
* Conducting risk assessments and supporting departments in creating Safe Systems of Work.
* Running site inductions for new starters and contractors, ensuring all staff are aware of the safety standards.
* Supporting routine safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance.
* Organising external safety training to continuously upskill employees.
* Playing a key role in reducing and eliminating reported safety observations, near misses, and incidents.
* Managing contractor safety processes and helping with waste management and statutory document control.
* Ensure all safety and environmental impact concerns have been reported.
* Report all injuries to the on site first aider.
* Report any hazards and defects you may observe, and report on any concerns around safe working methods.
What We're Looking For:
* NEBOSH General Certificate (or working towards it).
* A solid understanding of ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001.
* Knowledge of chemicals and hazardous substances.
* Experience in auditing safety standards.
* The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage at all levels of the business.
* A meticulous attention to detail, along with a natural curiosity for finding solutions.
* A proactive and approachable attitude.
