SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Coventry
School Type: Special School
Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday (8:30am to 3:30pm)
Weekly Salary: £425 to £450
Contract: Temporary (with opportunities to go perm)
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? An outstanding Special School in Coventry is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.
About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment for students with various special educational needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and complex learning needs. Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
* Assisting in implementing individual education plans (IEPs)
* Encouraging social and emotional development through positive reinforcement
* Helping create an accessible and stimulating classroom environment
* Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and parents to monitor student progress
About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who:
* Has experience working with children with SEN, especially autism and complex needs
* Is patient, empathetic, and adaptable to different learning styles
* Communicates effectively and works well within a team
* Is committed to safeguarding and promoting child welfare
* Holds (or is willing to obtain) relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent
* Has an enhanced DBS on the update service or is willing to apply for one
