The right candidate for the role will professionally deliver mechanical, electrical, and construction solutions for numerous contracts across the UK. This role offers some remote working with travel to the office on all other days.
Responsibilities:
1. Delivery, as part of a team, of successful commercial infrastructure projects.
2. Commercial responsibilities from contract award through to completion and final account.
3. Manage the estimating team.
4. Managing variations and changes with customers utilizing the Early Warning process where needed contractually.
5. Leading and managing the commercial team.
6. Developing relations with a range of clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
7. Working closely with internal departments to ensure successful and profitable outcomes reducing business risk.
8. Review pricing strategies.
9. Be part of the tender review process before projects are submitted to clients.
10. Understanding full project costs from initial order, variations raised, and final account.
11. Ultimate responsibility for all sub-contractor management. Ensure all sub-contractors and suppliers have submitted compliant quotations/inquiries/applications within the timescale required and produce all documentation to select and secure services as well as monthly assessments, variations/CE claims, and final account agreements through coaching of the Quantity Surveyor.
12. Attending when requested handover and progress meetings.
13. To undertake any other duties as and when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business and satisfy customer need.
MUST HAVE:
1. Full clean UK Driving Licence.
2. Able to carry out BPSS security clearance as a minimum.
3. Previous experience working as a QS or Assistant QS.
4. Construction industry experience in a commercial role.
5. JCT Contracts experience.
6. Experience of NEC3 or NEC4 contracts.
7. Experience of Frameworks.
8. Good communication skills with the ability to influence and manage.
9. An understanding of technical processes is desirable.
10. Experience of managing and delivering variations whilst retaining relationships.
