Your Kindness. Their New Home. Better Lives.
Every day, people who are homeless struggle to find and keep stable housing. As our Housing First Supported Housing Officer, you'll give the intensive hands-on support that helps them move from the streets into a safe home where they can rebuild their lives with dignity.
This job is about building trust. You'll work with up to 7 customers, making connections with people who may have been homeless for years and who often face challenges with mental health and substance use. You'll be their helper and supporter, guiding them through housing applications, benefits, setting up their new homes, and finding paths to a more stable future.
Picture yourself as the key person who supports people that others may have given up on. Your patience and kindness will help them not just get housing but succeed in it - making their lives better for years to come.
What you'll be doing
* You'll work from home, traveling to meet customers wherever they are—on the streets, in temporary housing, or in their new homes
* You'll build caring relationships with people who are likely to have been homeless for a long time. You might start with simple things like meeting for coffee to build trust
* You'll create and deliver support plans that focus on each customer's needs and strengths, helping with housing forms, benefits, healthcare, and finding funding for basic home items
* You'll provide complete support and, in some cases, may be your customers' helper for up to several years
* You'll work with partner agencies to ensure your customers get all the help they need, continuing to support them even when they face setbacks
What you'll get in return
Beyond a salary of £31,350 pro rata and the chance to make a transformational difference in people's lives, you'll get:
* 26 days annual leave per year pro rata (plus bank holidays) rising to 29 days after 3 years
* Your birthday off as an extra holiday
* Up to 10% matched pension contribution
* Optional participation in an Out of Hours On-Call Manager Rota
* Flexible benefits including the ability to buy additional leave, gym membership, Health Cash Plan
* 'Perks at Work' giving you access to thousands of discounts
* Access to an Employee Assistance Programme for your own wellbeing
