An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Immunisation Nurse in the Integrated Vaccination Service (IVS).
The newly integrated Vaccination Service is looking for a team player and experienced Nurse to deliver vaccination programmes to a wide variety of age groups, including children within clinics, care homes, schools, acute Trusts and community settings across Dorset.
Vaccinations are the safest and most effective way of protecting individuals and communities from vaccine preventable diseases. Working for the Integrated Vaccination Service allows you to work as part of a team supporting and promoting the importance of vaccines and offering support to the Integrated Vaccination Services across the Trust.
The Integrated Vaccination Service provides a variety of immunisations throughout the year including seasonal vaccines such as COVID and flu.
The role will be pan Dorset, with a base of Linden Unit in Weymouth or King's Park in Bournemouth, please express any preference at interview.
Car driver and access to own vehicle is essential.
Main duties of the job
Full-time post of 37.5 hours per week, part-time and flexible working will be considered. The post holder will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
Administering vaccines in community clinics, acute Trusts and occasionally in care homes or patient homes.
Collecting vaccines and equipment from vaccine bases.
Patient consent.
Providing expert knowledge to service users.
Community engagement.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
