Job Description
We have an ambitious Investment Strategy, which aims to demonstrate how by 2050 we can both grow and improve the condition of our estate of homes, ensuring all are of a standard fit for the future. We're looking for a Senior Project Manager to join us on a 12-month FTC. Due to the locations of the schemes, this role will require someone within a commutable distance of Oxfordshire and surrounding areas.
The role:
This role is responsible for the delivery of greenfield, brownfield and S106 opportunities within the region aligned to the Development gateways. The role will implement delivery strategies to ensure the performance and progress of projects and manage project risks. Supporting the Head of Development Delivery to deliver projects efficiently, to budget, quality, programme and in a safe manner.
Accountabilities include:
1. Manage a portfolio of development projects ensuring they are delivered on time, to budget, and in line with SNG's Homes and Place standard. The expectation is that the more complex projects will be overseen by senior project managers.
2. Take detailed handover of individual projects from the development management team to ensure successful delivery.
3. Grow and develop Project Managers by sharing time, knowledge and experience. Use mentoring and coaching skills to ensure other team members gain experience and insight into managing complex development schemes and can deliver similar schemes independently.
4. Prepare reports detailing progress on development opportunities.
5. Develop external relationships that assist in the delivery of development opportunities at senior levels within organisations such as developers (especially technical teams), local authorities, contractors and planning authorities.
What we're looking for:
1. Experience of managing complex multi-phased land led projects and managing joint ventures.
2. Experience mentoring and coaching team members.
3. Demonstrable record of taking projects from concept to delivery; creating teams to evolve the project and manage the project once established.
4. Comprehensive understanding of commercial practices relevant to delivering new development.
5. Financially literate, with the ability to interpret development funding models.
6. Demonstrable record of partnership working, influencing and persuading.
7. Experience in delivering mixed use and mono tenure developments.
8. Strong project management skills and ability to work in matrix management structure.
9. Able to network; adept and intuitive at managing a range of external relationships.
