HRUC (Harrow, Richmond and Uxbridge Colleges) is a successful merged college group, based across 5 vibrant campuses. We are excited to launch our new unified People and Organisational Development team in January 2025, which will enable us to renew and continue our journey to be an Employer of Choice. We are looking for a People Partner to provide strategic and operational support across HRUC, aligning and enabling the delivery of our strategic objectives and business priorities. This role involves partnering with senior leaders and playing a key part in fostering a high-performance culture. Key responsibilities include:
1. Building and maintaining strong working relationships with senior leaders and acting as a trusted advisor on People matters.
2. Providing expert advice and support on employment law and best practices to managers and staff across the college group.
3. Driving People projects and initiatives to enable the strategic aims of HRUC, including talent management, staff engagement, and diversity initiatives.
4. Managing complex Employee Relations (ER) cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, and redundancies, ensuring compliance with employment law and HRUC policies.
5. Developing and implementing strategic workforce plans to meet the current and future needs of the college.
6. Playing a key role in change management processes, providing expertise in organisational development and restructuring.
We are seeking to appoint an inspiring and innovative individual who can demonstrate the following:
1. CIPD qualification (Level 5) or equivalent relevant experience.
2. Proven experience in managing complex ER cases and a wide range of employee relation issues.
3. Strong understanding of HR practices, including discipline and grievance, performance management, and absence management.
4. The ability to work strategically and operationally to implement initiatives that align with the organisation’s goals.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships quickly.
6. A proactive approach and adept at problem-solving and decision-making.
