Advanced Clinical Specialist - Cystic Fibrosis

Are you experienced and passionate about the care of people with Cystic Fibrosis, and would like to continue developing the specialist centre care offered across the Humber and North Yorkshire region?
Do you enjoy working across boundaries including across the York and Hull acute trusts, across hospital, home and virtual care and across preventative, planned and unplanned acute care?
We are looking for an experienced and driven Physiotherapist with experience of working in a close multidisciplinary team and with people with cystic fibrosis and their families.
The team provides inpatient, outpatient, virtual and homecare, between 08:00-16:00, and 24/7 access to expert advice for clinicians and people with CF via a multidisciplinary on call service.
This post will work closely with the existing multidisciplinary team on both the York and Hull sites, paying particular attention to providing leadership and developing the physiotherapy service on the Hull site.
The successful candidate will be supported by a specialist team and particularly by the non-medical clinical lead for Cystic Fibrosis and by peer support with the Advanced Clinical Specialist for Cystic Fibrosis, with particular responsibility for providing leadership and developing the physiotherapy service on the York site.
Main duties of the job
1. To complete holistic and comprehensive therapy assessments.
2. To lead on the development of the services provided by the therapy team.
3. To provide day to day leadership to the therapy team.
4. To lead service improvement projects independently and jointly with the team.

Person Specification
Education, Qualifications and Training
* HCPC Registered Physiotherapist.
* Evidence of relevant structured CPD activities such as relevant Masters level modules or accredited Clinical Practice qualification.
* Post graduate qualification relevant to role and clinical specialty.
* Evidence of significant post graduate training within specialist area.
* Post graduate Qualification or accredited development relevant to role.
* Masters level study within relevant area of practice or research and evidence-based practice.
Experience & Knowledge Required
* Experience in specialist role, including the management of a range of specialist conditions, with substantial evidence of additional knowledge acquired through formal and informal clinical supervision.
* Evidence of ability to lead and act as an authority on the management of complex clinical presentations in specialist area.
* Significant experience of delivering clinical treatment within specialist area.
* Experienced in the identification and use of outcome measures to evaluate clinical treatment.
* Highly developed specialist clinical skills within relevant area.
* Significant experience of training/supporting others (including students) within specialist clinical area.
* Evidence of having led the delivery of relevant audit/research projects.
Skills and Abilities
* Ability to communicate complex information effectively, clearly and accurately, plain simple language verbally and in writing.
* Committed to development and improvement of myself and the wider team.
* Use own initiative, exercise judgement, resolve problems and stay calm under pressure.
