Job overview
Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSENHSFT) provides services to the residents of Southend, Basildon, and Chelmsford. It was formed in April 2020 by the merger of Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust, and Basildon & Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) provides community health, mental health and learning disability services to support more 3.2 million people living across Bedfordshire, Essex, and Suffolk.
EPUT and MSEFT are embarking on a UK first of type EPR procurement for a single EPR that spans Acute, Mental Health and Community health services. We have already undertaken extensive market engagement and submitted our full business case.
There is extensive interest nationally in this first of type opportunity and we are excited to offer this role to an experienced Enterprise Architect to support us in spearheading the programme and to be a part of our mission and successful delivery of the programme.
Main duties of the job
This role will be responsible for supporting the design of the target operating model (TOM) that ensures the EPR system will align with the strategic goals and operational requirements of both organisations and set up the teams to support the EPR for success following its go-live.
This involves working closely with executive leadership and key stakeholders to gather insights, understand strategic priorities, and ensure the EPR system supports the Trust's long-term goals. The Enterprise Architect will ensure that the EPR system facilitates improved patient care coordination, supports effective decision-making, and has all the support post go-live.
This role will be required to work across the key Nova workstreams as well as having a visible role working with other digital leads and key stakeholders across the organisations and the ICB. The individual candidate will have excellent communication, stakeholder management & strategic thinking skills to be able to deliver this complex task for a first of type EPR.
The Enterprise Architect will support the development of comprehensive documentation for the TOM, including strategic blueprints, process flows, and governance frameworks to guide the post-implementation requirements and their future evolution.
This role requires extensive experience in enterprise architecture with a focus on strategic planning and implementation in healthcare settings.
Working for our organisation
EPUT and MSEFT are embarking on the implementation of a UK first of type Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system that spans Acute, Mental Health and Community services. From facilities through to consultant specialists we want to be the best; to achieve this we need to recruit not just those who are the finest in their field but also those who have the potential to be. Yes, experience is important but so is outlook – if you are dynamic, forward-thinking and enthusiastic we want you to join us.
We not only offer you a good working environment with flexible working opportunities, but also the opportunity to develop your career with access to appropriate training for your job and the support to succeed and progress.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Our ambition is to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and well-being of our patients, and provide a vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.
Patients will experience improved care as well as fewer delays and cancellations. We are able to provide more once-in-a-lifetime specialist care region-wide.
