Job summary A vacancy has arisen to join the St Georges administration team for between 16 and 20 hour pe week completing the tasks of clinical coding, notes summarising and document management that are essential to the safe and efficient running of a modern general practice. The successful candidate will be comfortable using computers and confident in their ability to learn new programs quickly. Experience of SystmOne, our clinical IT system would be an advantage but not essential. Main duties of the job The safe, timely and confidential management of documents and correspondence is vital to the safe running of a GP practice. The secure and timely storage of documents and records, paper and electronic is essential. The post-holder will work, mostly autonomously, to scan documents into St Georges clinical system (SystmOne) and summarise paper and electronic notes where required. The clinical coding of documents is a key part of this role. As well as summarising clinical notes, the post-holder may be required to summarise patient notes with a view to drafting medical reports for GPs to check and sign, and it may be that the post holder is required to support the secretarial team more generally with drafting letters to patients and other professionals. About us Built in 2003, St Georges Medical Centre is a forward-thinking, dispensing GP Practice in rural East Cambridgeshire caring for over 12,000 patients. We are on GMS contract and use SystmOne. There are 45 staff in total, including seven GPs (two of whom are partners), six nurse practitioners, three Practice nurses and a strong secretarial and reception team. We have innovative partnership arrangements with Addenbrookes Hospital and host an oncology suite meaning our patients do not have to travel for treatment. We are a training Practice and have medical students, nursing students and GP trainees.
