Overview
Everest People Solutions is currently recruiting for a proactive Production Planner to join our client, a leading food processor. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring products are produced on time and at the lowest cost, optimising the use of staff and materials. This role involves overseeing the production and distribution processes to ensure smooth operations, with complete ownership of the Production Scheduling System in a dynamic environment. Strong data analysis and evaluation skills are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Schedule Management: Create and maintain daily production schedules, coordinating closely with the production team to execute plans and monitor quantities.
* System Oversight: Oversee and manage the daily scheduling system, ensuring it aligns with operational goals and supports Production Managers.
* Order Review: Analyse customer orders and financial data, ensuring timely and accurate submission.
* Resource Approval: Approve materials, costs, and workforce requirements to ensure efficient manufacturing processes.
* Operational Planning: Contribute to operational plans and participate in monthly forecasting sessions to align production goals with business strategy.
* Performance Communication: Provide manufacturing performance updates to stakeholders, using insights to drive operational improvements.
* Data Analysis: Extract, organise, and analyse production data to support business decisions and improve efficiency.
* Customer Coordination: Manage customer orders, ensuring accurate order fulfilment and providing regular updates on performance.
* Reporting: Prepare comprehensive production reports for senior management, offering actionable insights and recommendations.
Essential Requirements:
* Previous experience in a fast-paced production planning environment.
* Proven ability to analyse data and evaluate production performance.
* Strong administrative, organisational, and planning skills.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
* Proficiency in Excel and a solid understanding of costing, budgeting, and financial processes.
* Ability to identify problems and offer strategic recommendations.
Desirable Skills:
* Knowledge of production scheduling and planning systems.
* Experience in the food processing or manufacturing sector.
